Roegels Barbecue Katy

I saw this place on “The Texas Bucket List”. We arrived about 11:30 AM, the line was short and the service was quick. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We came on a Thursday because that is the only day you can get the Ruben and it was worth the wait. The corned beef, sauerkraut and dressing are made in house. Another unique item at this place is the bologna sandwich. The bologna is made from brisket and pork butt and smoked. The baloney has a different texture than what you are normally used to. Additionally, you can buy the baloney by the pound and take it with you. After I had the sandwich I had to bring some back home with me. The side dish we got was the cornbread casserole, which is much like a sweet cornbread with some whole kernel corn in it, we really liked it. A new item on the menu was the Keylime pie pudding. This had a mild Keylime taste to it, and was not harsh at all. I found this to be a refreshing end to our meal. I look forward to trying some of their other menu items, but we will definitely be back for the Ruben and the baloney.

Had the opportunity to visit the second location of this tasty BBQ joint in Katy and had a great meal. Loved the ribs, brisket and boudin. The greens are amazing. Seasoned just right. The elote was a bit too salty for me but still pretty good. The interior is nice! Has a full bar for all of your alcoholic pleasures. Plenty of seating and ample parking. If you are from the area or just passing through give this place a try. It'll fill your belly and put a greasy smile on your face!

We continue to get spoiled here in Houston with delicious barbecue and other great foods. The smoked turkey was soft, difficult to do with that bird. Don't get me started on the pork belly burnt ends.

We got here less than an hour before close, so of course they were out of dinner items we wanted. Got most brisket and jalapeno cheese sausage and both were great. Sides very decent also. Can't wait to come back and try the pork belly! Will have to come earlier next time for sure. They also have a bar, didn't get anything to drink but it looks nicely stocked.

Went with my fiance we got a few items and was so amazed at house delicious everything was. I’m a dessert girlie and that PEACH COBBLER was everything. I recommend the brisket and the smoked wings! The meat was so tender and juicy.

First time at Roegel's and won't be the last. The cashier and all the staffs were all in smiles, helpful and very friendly. We ordered the Meat Sweats (3 meat choice) and price is definitely better than Brett's. Their RIBS were AWESOME. We like dry rub, sweet type of ribs, and this place has the best ribs I've ever had. It was moist but has the top crust that was so good, not hard or chewy, but has a bit of a crunch on the first bite, while the meat under that crunch were so tender. Their bbq sauce is so good too, sweet and a bit of tangy but not sour. Their pork belly was so delicious, super soft and flavorful. And the fries!!! The crispiest and best tasting fries I've had for a while. I can hear the crunch as I was biting to it, but not hard or dry. My son loves the fries so much, we had to order a second round. Now, as for the brisket, We did not really care for it that much, even though it was so moist, it was like like butter soft, but the flavor was lacking. The smoked wings was ok, there was a taste of bourbon or beer and we prefer the regular smoked wings, no alcohol taste. Their cornbread pudding is the BOMB, and so is their bourbon pecan pie. We really like the decor, not too dark, not too bright, just right. The seats could be further apart, but it did not bother us. I think Roegel's is the best BBQ hands down in Katy in terms of RIBS, pork belly, fries and cornbread pudding. We will come back and try the sausage next time. Kudos to all the friendly staffs.

Service was kind and quick. Prices were about right for BBQ. Got that three meat plate. Brisket, turkey and pork belly with potato salad and coleslaw for sides. All meats were moist and delicious. Potato salad was yum. Coleslaw was not my favorite as some strange spice (celery seed?) ruined the flavor. The sauces (that were unnecessary) had a bit too much Worcestershire, methinks. If I were to venture back in the doors, I’d make sure to try the pork burnt ends and would not get the slaw again. All in all, this is a 4.5 star joint, so that rounds up to 5. But still, that coleslaw.... Yuck.
